Do I need a completed script before working with you?

While we don’t offer traditional script coverage because it’s designed for executives, not writers, we do provide Development Notes, which give you clear, actionable guidance to improve your script. Submit your script to work with a Story Expert and receive studio-level notes.

DO YOU OFFER SCRIPT COVERAGE?

Development Notes are the level-up from script coverage. It’s written page-by-page feedback on your script to strengthen structure, character, pacing, and clarity. Perfect if you have a full draft and want to elevate it before submitting to script competitions or pitching to studios.

Story Jams are our 1-hour script consultations. A live creative session where we build out your story together from concept development to plot shaping. Ideal for writers with ideas, outlines, early pages, or seeking clarity on their Development Notes.

If you’re unsure where to start, book a Kick-Off Jam. You’ll chat 1:1 with a Story Expert who will help you identify the service that best aligns with your current draft and your goals.

What’s the difference between Development Notes and Story JamS?

Absolutely. Many writers come to us long before they have a draft. If you’re still shaping your idea, characters, or plot, The Academy - our budget-friendly film school - is built for you.

The Academy offers multiple learning paths, from self-paced craft lessons and community support to higher-tier options that include direct feedback and live guidance from TPP Story Experts. Writers who complete their outlines in our live course may receive an invitation to The Script Development Lab, where they work 1:1 with a Story Expert to develop their script and pitch with industry-facing support.

Can you help me develop my story idea if I’m just getting started?

No. You don’t need an agent, manager, or any industry connections to work with us. Our services are designed to help writers develop strong material first — representation comes later.

We don’t sign NDAs. The best way to protect your screenplay or outline is to register it with the U.S. Copyright Office before sharing it. This gives you legal proof of ownership and protects your work.

Do you sign NDAs? How do I protect my work?

That depends on your goals — but before submitting anywhere, we recommend starting with Development Notes to make sure your script is polished, competitive, and truly ready.

Once you’ve done that, you have two strong paths:

  • Looking for recognition and credibility?
Submit to the First 15 Script Competition to get your work read, sharpen your craft, and gain industry-facing exposure.

  • Preparing to pitch your project?
Book a Story Jam to get notes on your pitch materials and practice your oral pitch with a Story Expert before taking meetings.

If you’re unsure which step comes next, book a Kick-Off Jam to chat 1:1 with a Story Expert who will help you identify the service that best prepares your script for submission.
