Review: REALLY LOVE5/1/2022 The actors were gorgeous and the chemistry between the protagonist and his love interest (IMO, Stevie was not a protagonist because she didn't have a clear goal or complications. She wanted him not her career and she could've had him.) was electric. But you know why we're here. Let's talk story. With Isaiah as our protagonist, let's consider the A-story = Art and B-story = Stevie. Everything in a screenplay must be cause and effect. We must be able to track change even via emotional through lines. Though I enjoyed REALLY LOVE overall, my largest critique is the inability to track the cause of many effects. For example: What makes Stevie decide to go on the first date? She went from being too focused on school to on a date in the next scene. What changed? Would've loved to be able to track time in this relationship. It felt like days between meeting and living together. What caused Stevie to ask him to move in? Did she think this would help his inspiration? What changed from the show where Isaiah isn't good enough to the solo show? What finally inspired him? It wasn't Stevie because she was already a constant in his life. Stay tuned for the rest.
