Wondering your screenwriting level? Take the quiz. The application includes submitting a previously written screenplay. Note: This is not a script coverage or feedback opportunity. If you're accepted to the next stage, we’ll invite you to a Clarity Call—a one-on-one conversation designed to help you make an informed decision about your screenwriting path. We’ll walk through your writing goals, your application responses, and your sample to determine the best next step—whether that’s The Mentorship Program or another resource that better fits your needs. This isn’t a pitch call—it’s a strategy session. Think of it as your chance to talk to a former TV exec (me!) about where your script stands and how to get it where it needs to go. Can I work on a rewrite in the program?
The Mentorship Program guides screenwriters through a proven writing process from idea to pitch to help them reproduce multiple screenplays/year. Because of this, screenwriter should join the program with a fresh idea. If you are interested in revising or rewriting your screenplay, we offer packages to those who submit for Development Notes. What happens if I miss a scheduled meeting?
Clear communication is key. It's our motto to ask for permission, not forgiveness. Communicate with your Story Expert about scheduling conflicts to see if there is an opportunity to reschedule. We will accommodate where we can, but there may not always be wiggle room. It's at your Story Expert's discretion and on a case-by-case basis. Can I schedule additional meetings with my Story Expert?
There are a fixed amount of scheduled meetings with your Story Expert in the program. However, you can always schedule additional meetings at the hourly rate. Your Story Expert will give you a link to access their schedule at your discretion. Do I need screenwriting software to be in the Mentorship Program?
Screenwriting software is highly recommended but not required to be in the Mentorship Program. If you need screenwriting software, we recommend Arc Studio. Get it at a discounted rate here. |
