What's included in the VIP Script Review?
The VIP Script Review is designed for Pen Pals who are working towards understanding the craft of screenwriting and seeking guidance in their process. Your Story Expert will read thirty (30) pages of your script and give an overall summary of your areas of development and next steps to reach your goals.
Do I have to submit the first 30 pages of my script?
We recommend submitting the first 30 pages of your script to provide your Story Expert with necessary context. If you have previously worked with your Story Expert on this story, you may be allowed to submit a different set of 30 pages. Please consult with your Story Expert prior to purchasing. Decisions regarding page submissions are made at the discretion of your Story Expert on an individual basis.

The VIP Script Review is tailored to review thirty pages of a script. We recommend adhering to this guideline for submissions. Should your script exceed thirty pages, additional pages can be purchased at $4 each using this link.

Is there a discount on subsequent submissions of revised pages?
This service, available at a discounted rate, is exclusively for Academy Pen Pals. While subsequent VIP Reviews do not offer discounts, you can submit your script as many times as you like. Once you've revised your full script based on Development Notes, you can resubmit it for Story Notes at a discounted rate. Your Story Expert will provide a submission link for Story Notes in the 'Next Steps' section of your Development Notes.

A screenplay intended to be produced as an original motion picture with a running time less than a feature film. This includes trailers and proofs of concepts.

A script intended for television, ie. a teleplay. This includes pilots, spec episodes of an established series, and web series.

A screenplay intended to be produced as an original motion picture.

ONE-HOURUsually dramas told in 4-6 act structure. Think GAME OF THRONES or LAW & ORDER SVU.

1/2HR SINGLE-CAMERAA series shot like a film on one camera. These shows have more freedom in location than 1/2hr multi-camera shows and are written in 3 acts. Think INSECURE or MODERN FAMILY.

1/2HR MULTI-CAMERASet on a soundstage with limited sets, produced in whole like a play in front of a studio audience with multiple cameras and are written in 2 acts. Think MARTIN or FRIENDS.

LIMITED SERIESUsually one season of 6-10 episodes, 1-hour episodes. Frequently told as whodunnit stories with closed endings and are usually written in 5 acts. Think LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE or CLICK BAIT.
